Welcome to Dublin Friends Meetup ("Platform", "Website", "we", "our", or "us"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Platform.

1. About Dublin Friends Meetup

Dublin Friends Meetup is an online community designed to help people connect, make friends, discover activities, and share plans with others.

Members can:

  • Create and share plans they are attending, visiting, or spontaneously organizing.
  • Like and comment on plans.
  • View member profiles.
  • Send and receive private messages.
  • Block other users.
  • Report content, messages, or user profiles.

Dublin Friends Meetup does not organize, verify, supervise, or guarantee any plans created or shared by members unless explicitly stated.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.

By creating an account, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • The information you provide is accurate.
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts suspected of being operated by persons under 18 years of age.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.

You may choose a username and may adjust your privacy settings where available. You agree not to:

  • Create accounts for fraudulent purposes.
  • Impersonate another person.
  • Share your account with others.
  • Use automated systems or bots to access the Platform.

You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create on the Platform, including plans, comments, profile information, profile photographs, and messages.

By submitting content, you grant Dublin Friends Meetup a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, store, reproduce, and use such content for the operation, improvement, promotion, and administration of the Platform.

You are solely responsible for the content you post.

5. Community Standards

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other users.
  • Engage in hate speech, discrimination, or bullying.
  • Share illegal, misleading, or harmful content.
  • Send spam, unsolicited advertising, or scams.
  • Share sexually explicit content.
  • Stalk, dox, or invade another person's privacy.
  • Encourage unlawful or dangerous activities.
  • Use the Platform for commercial solicitation without permission.

We reserve the right to remove content, restrict functionality, suspend accounts, or permanently ban users who violate these standards.

6. Private Messaging

Private messages are intended for communication between members. Messages are not routinely monitored.

However:

  • Administrators may access reported conversations as part of an investigation.
  • Administrators may review message content when necessary to investigate reports, enforce these Terms, comply with legal obligations, or protect the safety of users.

By using the messaging system, you acknowledge and agree to this process.

7. Reporting and Moderation

Members may report posts, comments, private messages, and user profiles.

We may investigate reports and take appropriate action, including:

  • Content removal
  • Warnings
  • Temporary suspensions
  • Permanent account bans

Moderation decisions are made at our discretion.

8. Blocking Users

The Platform provides tools that allow members to block other users. Blocking functionality is intended to help members manage unwanted interactions.

Users must not attempt to circumvent another member's block settings through alternate accounts or other means.

9. Meeting Other Members

The Platform enables members to connect with each other and share plans. You acknowledge that:

  • You interact with other members entirely at your own risk.
  • Dublin Friends Meetup does not conduct criminal background checks on members.
  • We do not verify the identity, conduct, intentions, qualifications, or safety of any member.
  • We cannot guarantee that information provided by users is accurate.
  • We are not responsible for the actions of any member, whether online or offline.

You should use reasonable caution and judgment when communicating with or meeting other members.

10. Safety and Personal Responsibility

When participating in any activity, meetup, event, gathering, or plan shared through the Platform, you accept full responsibility for your own actions, safety, health, and personal belongings.

Dublin Friends Meetup shall not be liable for:

  • Injuries
  • Accidents
  • Property damage
  • Theft
  • Financial losses
  • Disputes between members
  • Any harm resulting from participation in activities arranged through the Platform

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

Upon account deletion:

  • Your profile will be removed.
  • Your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy & Cookie Policy.
  • Your plans, comments, messages, and associated content may be removed from the Platform.

Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security, fraud prevention, or legal purposes.

12. Platform Availability

We strive to keep the Platform available and functioning properly. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without liability.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties regarding:

  • Accuracy of user-generated content.
  • Availability of the Platform.
  • Conduct of users.
  • Success of social connections, friendships, meetups, or activities arranged through the Platform.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dublin Friends Meetup, its owners, administrators, volunteers, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from:

  • Use of the Platform.
  • User-generated content.
  • Communications between members.
  • Activities arranged through the Platform.
  • Interactions occurring online or offline.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate any account at our discretion if we believe a user has violated these Terms, created safety concerns, engaged in unlawful conduct, or otherwise harmed the community.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Platform following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
